Identification guidance
This is product copy, not legal advice. Confirm current rules before printing tags or marketing claims.
Dogs
In Scotland, dogs must be microchipped. A dog in a public place also needs a collar with the owner’s name and address. PawLink can support reverse-side engraving; the QR alone is not sufficient.
Cats
Compulsory microchipping rules differ across the UK nations. We do not make a single UK-wide statement.
Livestock
HerdLink stores official identifier references to help field work. Statutory identification, movement reporting and ScotEID remain the keeper’s obligation.
